I would check it out with your doctor... usually your age is a good age to start weight training because you are mostly done growing and are still "injury" free. Maybe repost in a general area of the site and see what some of the older more experienced guys think.

All midgets that are now working in circuses were all early bodybuilders. Just kidding...I know of not one shred of scientific evidence that would substantiate these claims anywhere. There are many early teens doing weight training. The lifestyle in itself sets healthy habits that you can use all your life, like proper eating and learning about vitamins, which should do nothing but aid you in your growth.

I actually began training with weights when I was 13, and yeah, it did stunt my growth, although not significantly, noticeably. Whereas I was once the tallest guy in my school year, I'm now medium height. Therefore I would recommend for now that you keep away from serious weights and just do body weight exercises, there are a number of good ones and variations of classic exercises.

What? Jasdev, you did not have your growth stunted... You're not actually small and i don't think you were using heavy weights when you were 13
