Why don't you try a 4-day split then, if you feel guilty about taking 4 days/week off? Resting is not considered slacking.. on a 3-day split, you can do something like monday, wednesday, friday. one day rest between each workout, except 2 days once.

You need to get yourself a good routine.work each bodypart max. twice a week. MY SCHEDULE: day1=legs day2=traps+delts+bicep day3=chest+lats day4=tricep+bicep day5=traps+delts+lats day6=chest+legs
I do a abb workout every alternate day

You should get great results with a 3 or 4 day a week schedule. Don't make the mistake of trying to lift every single day. Your body really needs to take time off to heal and grow. When you are in the gym every day overtraing and burnout loom over you and may put an end to your training. You have years to go. Don't try to put all of your workouts in just one of them!

i try to give my muscles at least 48 hrs. before i would even train that body part again. rest time is where you grow setup your routine by the time it would take you to recover. you can tell this by how soar you are! i hope this helps you out!
