ive been getting up woofin down my TRAC creatine and hittin the weights. i get up usually around 8:30 and lift then i come home around 10 and eat a huge breakfast. is this bad? could i be burning muscle or taking away from my gains lifting on such an empty stomach? energy doesnt seem to be a problem. any input.

I do the same thing in the mornings but my post meal is not a large one , it consists of oatmeal, eggs and a protien drink.If you eat 5 to 6 small meals a day you keep your insulin down and burn more fat. It depends of if you want to gain muscle mass or lose weight .

i am looking to gain as much muscle mass as possible while keeping the weight gain to a minimum

this isn't an easy goal..that's because when loosing fat there's always a chance you'd loose some muscle 2.. however, a consistent well balanced diet every 3 hours and a good cardio session is what it takes to get as close to that goal as possible

Doing intense exercise on an empty stomach first thing in the morning is more effective in burning fat than performed later in the day after you've eaten a few meals. You see, after an overnight fast, blood-sugar levels are low, as are carbohydrate reserves. This will cause the body to dip right into stored fat to get the energy required. If you are trying to gain mass though I would work out when your energy is at a comfortable high to max your workout.
