Does training in a different climate bring different results? I've never really lifted weights in Taiwan, but I do see the gains. The weight room has air con and stuff, but does that make any difference?

hey chrisyi,
I train in saudi arabia where it's like really hot. But I've also trained in TN in the states and other countries which have pretty cold climates. I think unless you train outdoors it doesn't matter much. One point of training during the summer is to drink a lot of water...that's very important

I train in my extremely hot garage, but I drink lots of water. You certainly can get a good sweat going on though (good for the pores of your skin).

chrisyi,

temp does make a difference. The key point to remember is to keep your body temp higher then lower. When you are warmer, you have better circulation of blood to the working muscles. Another benefit is that you have a lower chance of injury because your muscles are not tense.

I prefer to train in a sweater always - I get a better pump and have better blood circulation.

Good Luck!

Thanks you guys. I think I'm one of those people either blessed or cursed with over active sweat glands. No matter how hot or cool the room is, I can work up a sweat like within 5-10 minutes. So I usually wear like a sleaveless top and shorts. So my body temp is usually high anyway. On a side note I've had people comment on how soft my skin is. And I usually don't do anything but shower and occational lotioning if my skin is dry.

I'm opposite chrisyi. It usually takes me a while to work up a good sweat. Sometimes I feel like I will internally combust. I wish I could lift weights in the buff. I think they would throw me out of the gym and CUT OFF my MEMBERship. HEHEHEHEHEHE.

I am the same merlin, I hardly ever sweat. I can tolerate ver high heat (don't sweat in it either), but freeze when it is 75 degrees. Always cold!

I sweat when I need to, but when there is dry heat I enjoy it too. I just hate when it is humid.
This may be strange but my body adjusts to various temps. But it has to be natural temps. I hate AC though. In Taiwan it is very hot then people work in an AC invironment. Believe or not I have to put on an extra shirt in the summer to just function in AC.
