ive been doin some leg extensions instead of leg press for growth reasons, ever since leg extensions ive experienced bruises and pain in my knees. whats wrong?
From a guy that had knee surgery twice, I understand. A common mistake is to let the legs bend too far back. This can over extend the ligaments in the knee. Also, a good warmup is good. You mention leg extensions and leg presses, but what about the squat?? Nothing is better for your legs. Also do some lunges. I prefer Smith Machine lunges for stability and comfort.
Be sure you using weight that you can control. Leg extension is the bread and butter for the front thigh. However you shouldn't quit doing leg presses.
