Its ok to add to your list of fats. I hate milk, I use it occasionaly for shakes and oatmeal when I miss some fat.

Yes, but in moderation. Keep a count of those fat grams, though. Milk fat is not always the best for you. If you want to drink 1%, you may want to keep some skim on hand as well.

a good way to look at it is how do you look at regular milk? Whole milk is 3%

because my brother picked up 1 percent instead of skim, i usually use milk for my protein shakes...

you can mix the 1% with some water for your shakes - that's what my boyfriend and i do at his place (where they buy 2%). tastes pretty much the same as skim and you're using a little less milk.

Well, I use to say that nonfat milk is nasty, but if you actually take the taste of 1% to nonfat it isn't a big difference and it has no fat compared to what (7 grams) or so. I am a nonfat milk girl after learning that little secret.
