Hello everybody!
I was just wondering if it would be possible to lose 15 pounds in 1 month. I am someone who has been emotionally overeating every day for a while now, but am finally beginning to buckle down and lose the weight I have gained (about 20 pounds). If I go from overeating all the time to a healthy diet, what would I have to do to meet this goal? Also, has anyone here had a real fat loss of 10-15 pounds in 6-8 weeks? |

Yes you can but 10lbs would be water..........
You can loose 1-3lbs of fat per week if you stay seriously dieting and exercising. Not really funny but you'll be VERY happy afterwards!:big_smile: -------------- - Nina :o) Les Victoires éternelles sont celles du coeur. www.nme-pro.com |

Philia2 is so right! It's not worth getting excited about losing just to gain it back - try patience and understanding with yourself, make it permanent by losing in a realistic manner and it will also be better for your body and less chance of gaining it back since you will have changed your eating habits. It isn't easy, waiting, but I believe it is worth it - I am losing slowly, but considering how long it took me to put it on, I think I am still way ahead of the game. Hang in there and be happy with whatever weight you can shed in a sensible manner, you said you go from overeating to healthy - so make the change a permanent one. It helped "me" when I changed to eating 4-6 meals a day but do whatever works for you and let it keep working! Good luck to you!-------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. Hey!
Thanks, girls. You are all so supportive. :) VedaKathryn, I was just wondering your stats, how much you gained and lost, and also, when you were first trying to lose weight, what worked for you and how fast did you lose it? Some advice would be greatly appreciated. :) |

Of course you can succeed, everybody can but nothing comes out of nothing........ :) Lots of hard work, discipline and just NEVER forget what you really want!
You only want to do weights for your arms? Not legs? Honestly if I should give you a VERY good advice then forget all the cardio and start lifting weights 5 times a week......... :dumbbell: That's the only way you can sculpt a beautiful body and STAY that way! -------------- - Nina :o) Les Victoires éternelles sont celles du coeur. www.nme-pro.com |

??? Well, I only have free weights. Don't sqauts also sculpt? What exercises would be the best to lose fat? I am thinking doing cardio, and various ab, thigh and butt exercises, with a diet rich in veggies and lean protein.

Hey
Nobody like to answer my questions! :( Well, I am going to Montreal in August, and am determined to lose a significant amount of weight, so I look fit and fabulous, and can fit into a good size of jeans! My plan is to do cardio, free weights for my arms, some ab work, and a healthy diet (No sugar!). Will it be possible to shed a good 15 pounds if I become serious about my weight loss? |

I'm very sorry, I get lost in these posts sometimes and forget where I've been and to check back! I only recently became motivated again since cancer 13 years ago (didn't start to gain for about a year or two after), prior to that I was heavy into weight training and nutrition. I have been a manager and trainer at a women's circuit gym. But, until recently had no motivation, I'm 42 and a grandmother and figured I could just look like a frumpy grandmother forever, but then I just cracked and after about two or three weeks, I found this site, which has helped me immensly to stay on track. I had to get there, but now that I am there, I have found the people supportive and knowledgeable.
Between June 1 and June 10th, I have lost 10.5 inches thus far and lowered my body fat by a few percentages. My weight has only gone down 3 pounds but I am told to pay more attention to the inches at this point as muscle weighs more and I may be gaining muscle in the beginning as I am losing some fat. I have 75 more pounds to go for my goal, which I am doing slowly and carefully as I want to keep it off. I hope to have lost 15 pounds by the end of July but on average I believe a good weight loss is 1 pound a week, so I may not make it, but if I lose more inches I will be thrilled. Philia2 is right about the weights, I have to combine cardio and weights to implement a quicker loss since I have plenty of fat stored, but since you are looking at 15 pounds, you should look toward weight training, more muscle burns more calories on a continual basis. I have been gearing my workouts more and more toward the weights, the cardio is like my "benefit" workout to burn a little extra, but I am learning to rely on my weight training to keep up the burn! Good luck and sorry about the slow response! -------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan.
