hey there,
I run marathons over the last few years and started off never being a real runner. Youve got to be willing to put in the effort and stick to a schedule. Start by just running for 20 mins 3 times a day your first day just being a light jog, second day a normal jog, and the third day a slightly faster jog that makes you work that bit extra. do this for a couple of weeks and then up it to 30 mins, then 40 then 50 in no time you'll be running marathons!

I am starting insanity on monday and will be eating 1300 calories a day. Is this a healthy amount?

it depends on how many calories you use while working out. I swim on my own everyday for 2 hours and than for 4 hours on Saturdays, the amount of calories I get rid of is close to 5,000 per day (my physician let me know). This means I can eat up to 4,000 healthy calories and still lose weight. After a little while your body will adjust and you will stop loosing wieght.
So if you can figure out how many calories you burn during Insanity than make sure to only eat healthy calories; you should see a change in your body soon.
