I lift 4 days a week and do cardio 5 days a week. I weigh 230 lbs, got about 30 lbs of fat to take off, I could stand to lose a little muscle maybe but preferably not. They say the lowest I should go is 2600 calories a day, but that just seems to high for me. I know there's no easy weigh to take the pounds off it takes time and hard work. But, would it be really detremental to eat about 230-250g protein a day and go for a low fat 2000 calorie a day diet????? If not how low can I go?

Jordan I've read several of your posts and it seems you've been working your butt to get the weight down. If you want to lose every bit of that hard gained muscle plus probably a little bit more, drop down to 2000 calories. You're doing good so far but take it off a little at a time. As you build up more and more muscle, the fat will go. Go with the recommendation and see how it works. Then adjust a little at a time.

Thanks mike, I just gained a bunch of fat from being lazy and taking a month off I guess I'm just too a little impatient, i appreciate the advice.

I'll tell you that I thought that the calories I was told to consume by ft was too high. It's not. I consume around 2000-2100 calories per day and I am dropping weight at a slow rate, and packing on muscle. Going too low on the calories will cause your metabolism to slow down. Just make sure that you are consuming the correct kind of calories. healthy ones full of nutrients.
