I...
HURT...
EVERYWHERE...

That being said, I had a blast.
Here's the rundown of my perforamance, and the show all around...

Weigh ins... I saw some big people. People that could eat me. And still have room for jello.
Weighed in at 155. Managed to cut 8lbs off of jared the night before using a few quick weight cutting tricks. Came off like nothing, but I was happy it was so easy.

Chain yoke was awkward as hell. We practiced with 225 on the bar and 230 hanging, but having 365 hanging was much harder. I was going ok, even if really slow, took one false step, and came crashing down outside the buffer zone. 16 feet.

1 arm Dumbbell clean and press went well.
Got coached on technique by a friend of mine that was at the contest on how to clean something you cant move very fast. A 2.5 inch handle is really thick, and makes it difficult to move the weight quickly. Worked the 50, 60, 70, like it was nothing, got the 80 on my second try for a decent finish. I'm not sure how many people got all of them, but it wasnt many. I was happy with getting the 80.

Then came the deadlift. Wasnt looking forward to it, but I pulled 405 almost to lockout and then dropped it. Couldnt get it up after that. Saw some pretty amazing feats of strength here though.

Log clean and press was next. 2 clean reps of 185, log was awkward as hell. Could have done reps with a barbell all day. Here was what I heard from the announcer from a video later:
"Check out this guy to the right. Mr. Intensity! Whats this guy weight??? 160?! Are you serious? This guy is lifting 25lbs over his bodyweight overhead right now? Thats a 12 inch log. Give it up! I want you guys on your feet right now!"
Of course, I heard none of this at the time.
On a side note, directly prior to my lift, I saved my training partners life. He russian pressed it and started to fall back, I managed to get up and grab the log and throw one side forward before it came down on him. I was putting straps on my wrist to set up when he walked up to me and gave me a huge hug, and apparently the announcer thought this was a big deal as well...

Then the medly. 4th. I flew with the conans walk and the keg. I was practically sprinting. Duck walk was difficult, but I made up for it with my speed with the keg. Apparently this was a big deal that I could sprint with a keg my size, because it got me 2 interviews, one with national coverage and another with some german media that were covering the event. I told the rest of the team when they asked that I was interviewed for being small. For a large testosterone filled group, this was pretty funny.

Afterwards, the diesel crew was out and about. I talked with smitty (Jim Smith) for a bit, and managed to get the 75lb blob off the ground. Jim followed it by cleaning the Inch. Way to make me feel insignificant. J/k, but it was one hell of a show. Sledge hammer levering, inch pressing, kettlebells flying everywhere, bending. It was great to see in person.
Got invited to train with a team that is outside of my hometown, so we'll see what im doing this summer.

Steve that's some amazing $hit...seriously....I am afraid of what you can accomplish if you gained 5 more pounds...lmao.....405 deadlift at 155? thick bar DB snatches....all very impressive feats....
I can only imagine what you can accomplish given more time...

is there a place to find out where such events are held?

I mean I have no place to train for events like this...but if it's being held in bay area/san francisco I would definitely enter just to try it out....

NAS STRONGMAN. pretty sure thats the website, if not, google it.
My 405 dl failed. Looking to bring that up a bit though. I'll have to start training rack pulls. Really want to start working on my athletic squat now.

Nice job wrestler! Very impressed! From someone who has completed the journey of competition, I know what the dedication and preparation are all about, the intensity needed. This in itself is a reward..and doing as good as you did, you have every reason to be proud. We are proud of you as well. :dumbbell:

Thanks guys. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the club next. I'm excited at knowing I completed everything, and held my own even when outtrained and outweighed.

I like to think this is my way of showing that everything is applicable. There is one thing I can not stand, and that is weightlifting "yodas", those that can only weightlift with their mind. You can talk the talk, but you should be able to walk the walk before you tell anyone else how they should train.
