Hello, I'm 35 and new to this site. I am moderately active (have to be with 2 young boys) and exercise regularly.

I currently live across the street from a YMCA. I go approximately 3 times per week but would like to increase that. I started out in classes (cardio toning, step, kickboxing), and now I'm on the treadmill trying to get ready for my first 5K next week. I do some nautilus, however, the free weight area intimidates me (the guys hanging out in the free weight area intimidate me).

I need to lose about 10-15 pounds and tone. Last year, I lost 30 pounds kickboxing, but the Y doesn't offer it.

I need help and would love a buddy!!

If you lost 30lbs already then it sounds like your already on track. I don't know why the guys over by the weights would intimidate you but I guess it might be that way for some girls. Really though just go over there and start doing whatever you have planned on your workout. No one should really bother you. Its probably a better bet that someone over there would try helping you get your form down on any exercises your new to. Good luck!
