I am currently living in France for the next few months and do not have enough money to buy a year long gym membership or a weight set. Cardio exercise is not a problem as my feet still work, but how can I keep up a weighlifting regemine... So far I have just been doing pushups and leg lifts, but perhaps you guys know of some other exercises (isometrics perhaps) that require only a floor/wall/chair.
I also don't really have access to books on the subject unless they happen to be in French, lol, just internet or maybe really good message board descriptions ; )
any help is welcome.

I lived in Germany and when I was in hotels I had the same problem. Do air chairs on your leg day until you want to scream. Also I did bicep curls with a heavy hand bag loaded with anything heavy I could find. Put a chair next to your bed and put your feet on the bed and your hands on the chair and do dips this way. On a staircase you can do calves with your foot half on the step and half off. Do one leg at a time so the weight will be more. Put a heavy backpack on for more weight. Also load up a backpack (big water bottles work) and wear it for push-ups, squats and lunges. These are not like a gym but a lot better than nothing!!!

You can get a Freetrainers resistance workout and specify that you have no equipment.
Resistance bands are also cheap and very versatile too (you can specify these in your FT workout too)
There have been a few previous posts on this, I will try to find and bump them for you.

I found it - look at the hotel room workout thread.
Oh, and welcome to freetrainers :)

Resistance bands are very inexpensive and you can do a complete body workout with them...use water bottles as light weights and you can do shoulder flyes, front raises, presses, curls, tricep extensions, you name it...dont forget crunches, lunges, squats, calf raises....
goodluck
