Hi, I'm new here and just wanted to say, after joining a gym, getting a trainer and working out for one week, I am geeked about body building. I don't know, at my age if I will get any substantial increase in muscle mass but i'm willing to try. When I work out and I get that warm feeling in my muscles from the the blood flowing I get excited! I feel younger already.

It only gets better jd. You might be surprised how much muscle you can put on. The only thing I might suggest is to get a good balance of cardio and resistance work. A lot of people tend to overdue the cardio when first starting out. Looking at your profile, you don't have any excess body weight to play with. Welcome to FT

Thanks Mike, I am doing cardio (kick boxing, step aerobics and body pump) as a warm up to lift weights. I am working out 5 days a week. My body fat is 16.2 yet my blood fat (trygicerides) is 1529. My goal is to get the fat out of my blood first so I will be doing a lot of cardio. My diet is mostly chicken and fish and I am eating constantly. Hopefully it will all balance out.

Welcome to the healthy world. Diet is the key with what you are doing. Eat as much as you like but make sure it is all healthy calories. Good luck and build the muscle. Don't forget to measure yourself and please keep us posted.
