I resurected this post as I am getting mentally prepared for the event.
My company found out that this healthy lifestyle and training is part of my life. Every year they compete in this challenge of pulling a 767 Aircraft on the runway. The team is made up of 20 of us, and we pull it in quickest time (challenge 1) and the 2nd challenge is the least team members. Guess will be adding in more core exercises. The pull is in September and if anyone would like to see the info site just google 767 challenge. If anyone would like to see last years results or know more, you can look at this link. Oh, and I will be with the Con-Way Freight Canada team. www.josq.qc.ca/defi4_en.aspx#defiancre -------------- A little discipline at the table and at the gym might help reduce that belly! "Team Conway" is ready for Sunday. We (20)will be pulling the aircraft on the run-way at Trudeau Airport at the Air Canada Base. This is a charity event for the Special Olyimpics of Quebec and we have collected over $2000.Cdn to get in, besides the training. Rain or shine, we will be pulling!-------------- Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success. Ivan Montreal Canada (City of Festivals) |

Let us know how it turns out. See if you can get video, I'm always interested in this kind of thing.
I've heard strongman competitors that have done it say it's actually easier than a truck, because there is less friction. Still, that's a crapload of momentum to overcome, but I'm sure the team will be fine with you pulling for them. -------------- SQUAT MORE ~Jesse Marunde Mortal by birth. It's rainy here in Montreal today, and weather is supposed to clear tonight. Looks like a great day for the pull.
Iv'e never done anything like this before, and every once in a while I get the butterfly's. We will probably end up falling over like a stack of Dominoes! I'm eating fish for 2 of my meals today, and sice we are pulling in the AM, I will have oats and bannas for am meals. Need the energy from the bannas whic is good for about 90 minutes. Thanks for all the support!:) -------------- Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success. Ivan Montreal Canada (City of Festivals) |

I am still waiting for the standings.
The aircraft weighed60 tons. Thirty teams (of 20) participated here's how we did. The pull was 12 feet and we did it in 8.29 seconds. Then with the least pulling we did it with 9 of us, but I don't know yet what our total weight of the 9 were. The standings should be posted by the end of the week on the site. www.defi767.com Thanks for all the support. -------------- Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success. I would like to agree with you Charlie, but there was the Air Canada Ramp team they pulled with only 5, The Montreal police pulled with 8, still no official results. We were probably 20th. The day was filled with fun. Kids got to go for chopper rides with Provoncial Police, ride on Airport fire equipment, All the emergency equipment you can think of was on display as the Police brotherhood, Air Canada are big sposors. Our company supplies all the food for our team. (junk food).-------------- Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.
