Hey everybody I just recently joined this site and the information has really helped me alot but I have some questions that have been affecting me in my training.

1. I own a bowflex machine and was wondering if I could substitute it for all the cable machines on this website, also does 1 pound of weight from the composite bow rods equal 1 pound of free weights?

2. I also own a curl bar and when I do curls on it my wrist start to hurt after about 5 reps and this really inhibits my ability to do a good bicep work out, i'm also 17 so i doubt that its due to osteoporosis.

bowflex is similar to a cable station....1 lb is 1 lb...but you're not forced to stabilize the weight as you would with free weights....so in a sense it's easier....so your auxillary muscles are not working as hard....

get Dumbells or ez-bar(it's easier on wrists)...i don't use straight bars in my workouts because of unnessary pressure on wrists...

I find that my wrists hurt when I do curls with a straight bar too. Start with a really light weight and stretch out your wrists before you start. I find that after they warm up the pain goes away.
