hey Michael U're good!
Yr signature talks abt trampling & chaos, but u're helpful ...thx!

One more Q...

whats GI sugar?

Also with ref to yr answer, ". The sugar is used to restore your glycogen stores in the liver, which are depleted by a hard workout, thereby allowing the protein to be utilized for muscle repair."
Does it mean that if I wont have sugar immdtly post wkout & have only a protein shake, the proteins wont be easily & fully used for muscle repair?

A company,
recommends having their product called "Glucogen" in dilute form mixed with water when weight training.
After exercise they recommend having it some 4 small scoops in 200 ml water post work out as the body needs these sugars.
Does this sugar reach the muscles ?

Is it really imp to have it
1.while training
2.post training
3.both

or just a selling gimmick?

pls suggest

thx

A simple/high GI sugar is important immediately following a workout, along with a fast-acting protein like whey. The sugar is used to restore your glycogen stores in the liver, which are depleted by a hard workout, thereby allowing the protein to be utilized for muscle repair.

LOL, thanks...

GI stands for Glycemic Index. In simplist terms, it rates sugars on how fast the body will react to them. The higher the number, the faster your body will respond to it. The high ones aren't really good for any other time than your workout, since such a rapid response (with insulin) can promote fat storage.

"Does it mean that if I wont have sugar immdtly post wkout & have only a protein shake, the proteins wont be easily & fully used for muscle repair?"........Bingo. Your body's first and foremost job is to supply fuel for your brain, not repair muscle tisse. With a fuel deficiency, your body will more likely convert the protein into fuel in order to keep going, rather than send it to the tissue.
