I signed up for both the 12 Week Muscle Mass and the 12 Week ab programs, but is it possible to do both at the same time? I've heard that it is nearly impossible to add a lot of muscle without adding some fat, which would obviously cover up the abs. Any thoughts?

Also, this is a technical question, when I click on the Ab section in my personal fitness plan, no viewable workouts appear, including week one

bb1fit just answered this in the general exercise and weight training forum. the bottom line of what he said is that you're going to have to pick adding mass or getting lean. adding mass requires a caloric surplus, leaning out requires a caloric deficit. check out the post, it should help!

in order to get an ab routine to appear for me i had to make a new login and choose only the ab routine for specialized goals. seems to be working thus far. prodigy789 you might want to try that.

The special ab program will not come up with the mass program. I don't think its supposed to. What 519 did is the best soultion.

If you are asking about should you do abs while bulking, the answer is most definitely. As mentioned, it is very hard if not near impossible to gain muscle while dieting. So, it is best to build your abs while gaining as you would any other muscle, and then they will be there when you diet down. You will of course see a bit larger stomach due to the 6 pack mass pushing out the fat a bit more, but if you don't do this and make the mistake of not working them while gaining and then try to get them to come in when dieting, it is going to be tough(if you want more than a flat stomach and want a 6 pack). They are muscles like any other and need to be worked and fed.

I was just saying how the FT mass program works. Right or wrong, the abs program does not come up with the mass program. I work abs while gaining mass.

This is a fact. Charlie is right. I was simply trying to impact the point to make certain you work abs during your mass program. To get the abs program you have to select it.
