it seems like when I was doing about 200 sit ups and 100 crunches a day, abs were impossible to tone.
Anyone know of any good exercises that are proven (i.e. have produced results for you) to get those rippled abs?

Work your abs just like any other muscle. do you do 200 reps for you chest? (Of course not) It's not about how many sit ups you do it's about how you do them. You should feel a very intense burn in every rep and by the time you get to 15 your abs should feel like they're on fire. Working your abs is great but without a very low fat and low carb diet you must face the fact that your abs may never show. Include some cardio to help with fat lose and watch your diet by removing just a few bad habits that you may have developed over the years.

I dont have a definate 6 pack yet, but im trying. I have seen some improvement by doing your abs slowly so you feel the burn. I try to stick around 15 - 20 reps, anymore and your not using your abs, your using other muscles to help. Just and idea. Try it out. laico

I do 100 situps a day when I work out. You don't really have a six pack until you start getting really low body fat, for me I have like 8 % body fat right now, and I am just ripped apart in every muscle. I don't do anything that much for other muscles, but ab's take a long time to see results so for ab's the more you do, it actually is better. 4 sets of 25 should be good. Or do like 10, 20, 30, 40, or 40, 30, 20, 10, thats where you feel the burn. It took me about 3 months to finally get a six pack, now I just do the 100 a day to keep it toned!
