I am a classically trained singer (opera) and I have to be very careful about working my abs out too much because it affects my singing, mostly breathing and support. Because we are trained to sing using our diaghramatic muscles and muscles in our abdomen, we need to have control over what happens in this region of the body. What are some good core exercises that won't tighten up my stomach too much so that it will not effect my breathing/support system? I have gotten in a situation where it was too tight to control while singing. What can I add to my routine to help this area, but not make it too tight?
