ok i know its def not the norm but i happen to be at the store and see that they have slim fast new low carb protien shake on sale so i bought a case to see how they taste. Its not bad i like the strawberry chocolate is chalky but any way i was wondering are they ok for quick grabbing protien source IE before or afeter workout?
the break down is
180 cal
9 fat total
1.5 sat
1.5 poly
6 mono
6 carbs total
4 fiber carbs
20 protien
and a crap load of vitamins
i dont know what kind of protien it is in the ingredients it says fortified milk protien what ever that is. So if someone knows if this is ok or if there is something wrong with it pls let me know. As soon as payday comes i planb on investing in a tub of the good stuff but premades seem to be convienent at times:)
I was looking into shakes a while back when I discovered leftover slim fast in the pantry. I decided to mix it with water and use it till it was gone- only a few days worth anyway. In my opinion it wasn't too bad, less fat than the shake you had, but 220 calories. I wouldn't do it all the time, just in moderation. I'm trying to do my best to not take shakes since I only need 145 grams of protein a day. cup of cottage cheese, some kashi go lean cereal with milk, yogurt, chicken and tuna get me close to that :)
as far as the premades being more convenient- would it jurt to invest in some rubermade sippers and make your shakes a day or so in advance and then leave them in the fridge till you need them? Maybe a moderator oculd answer that. If there is nothing wrong with doing that I'd suggest doing that before using anything that was premade.
yea i guess i just picked them up cause they where cheap at the time and i fig somethig was better then nothing i cant afford a 60$ tub of shake right now till payday but could sare 4$ for 4 cans :)
