should you change your workouts with your abs every so often just like the other muscle groups, or is it okay to do the same thing? also.. i want my waist to be smaller and slimmer, and i know that diet is important, but what exercises can i do to get a smaller, slimmer waist??

I have found out just recently that changing my workouts sends a message to new muscles. I was doing the same exercises each week on my abs and frankly it was just getting boring. I could do 100 crunches with the bench declined to the floor and not feel a thing. I had my husband put weights on my stomach and they just felt like they were going to fall so I was concentrating on the weights and not the abs. I switched this week to the ab machine at the gym and wow, I can feel it again. I started out at 50lbs resistance and I am working my way up. Also changed my leg raises to hanging leg lifts, gave those lower abs a shock and it didn't hurt my back. Best of luck to you.

Good info you gave sandysford....this is true with all muscle groups. There seems to be some misconception about abs, like you can do them every day. I think the media is much responsible for this, with their advertisements for everything in the world that works abs. They are a muscle like any other.

yeah.. i mean i know that you aren't suppose to exercise your abs by doing like 100 crunches, they need rest too.. but what are some slimming exercises to get a smaller waist?
