Ok, so I've started a new workout regimen, and I've been gettin up before school every morning to do it. This dude at my gym, kinda heavy but not too out of shape comes in and does incline bench press and curls it seems like every day, and for some dang reason, he feels like he has to use the cage for his barbell curls. So, while pretty much every exercise I do HAS to use the cage, this guy takes up my space quite frequently in the mornings, and now I'm gonna have to start comin in before the place opens just to save my spot. I don't really wanna say anything to him cuz he's quiet and he works really hard in the gym (despite his pathetic routines). Just pisses me off, cuz there's many other ways he could do his barbell curls, and he sees me living in that cage every time I'm there.

Ask him nicely that you need the cage......For something that HAS to be done in there....or ask if he can roll the bar under yours...and let you squat in between.

I mean if you go to the gym owner he'll say 1st come 1st serve probably...BUT that is the only place yu can do them..

or try and get there 5-10mins early to get it.

I bought my own rack to avoid this problem, now just need a spotter to come over to my house as my 2 and 5 year old sons just don't seem to help much as they are hanging on the ends of the bar asking to HELP daddy lift? And I tell them thank you, pleasse let go so I can stand up.

The spotter would be for my KIDS!! I get tired just trying to keep an eye on them and lift at the same time. Ever tried to do an incline bench with a 2yr old climbing on your chest!
I like the little extra lift to get back up once I have maxed out. Right now I just let it sit on the bars and then try to get it back up when I feel I have recovered, seems to be working quite well to eliminate any sticking points at the bottom. Some days I do have to lower the weight a little.
