Those of you that worked really hard to get the nice slim tight waist line, I want to know.... Did you ever increase in waist size? My abs are tight, although there are some more fat on top of it that I would like to get rid of. That's not the problem. I am not trying to spot reduce. My waist size is bigger than before. Did this happen to you too? I assume when my bf is lower, waist size should get smaller without those fat. I wonder if I'm doing my crunches in the wrong way.

If you build your pbliques and rectus abdominals up, you could get a little bigger in the waist.
Are you sure you aren't holdong water, bloated?

Sorry, obliques.
When you do crunches are you focusing on pulling your belly button in towards your spine and curling your rib cage under towards your hips?

Also, when you are doing you abdominal exercises, make you you are exhaling on the way up.

I am not bloated. But I do have hard time pulling in my abs while doing crunches. All this time I was exhaling on the way down, Ooops. Maybe fixing that may make it easier to pull in abs while crunching. Thanks

If you don't cut the fat...thats on top... the abbs will push out the fat.....makeing you "thicker"

I have some of the same problems with the belly.. my body feels tight (most of the time) but my belly has a layer of fat that drives me nuts.. I even tried lipo.. I look 6 months pregnant if I don't suck it in! I used to have flat belly with just a slight protrusion.. now I look weird as I get older?! What has happened to my stomach walls?

Lisa, I started doing stomach vaccum, no you don't need any vaccuming machine. You just suck in your stomach really hard and hold it for 20 sec, if you can, and do it for 5 to 10 times a day. I do it whenever I remember to do. You can do this laying down, sitting down or standing up. This supposely helps tighten transverse abdominis which hold your guts in. I am hoping that fat on my body in general will go away a bit more with strick eating along with exercise. And training more transverse abdominis may help keeping it flat??? My fat on my abs, love handles seem more like very very thick skin.
