Alright, I successfully completed 2nd year of uni, and am back home for the summer. At school, I had a strict diet plan and workout schedule, which did wonders for my body. But therein lies the problem. I am back home for the summer for work, and my diet is starting to go to shambles. I'm not cooking my own meals (since my mom is the supper guru) and I'm straying from my nutritional goals.

I want to go back to cooking for myself. The gains I achieved are important to me, and with the way things are going now, I'm going to lose much of the definition I worked so hard to achieve. I already am noticing more fat gain around the midsection from this change to diet. I want to tell my folks this, but dont really know how to put it.. any suggestions?

Are you kidding? How is it you're able to talk about this to complete strangers but you are having problems telling your parents?

Just tell them. Just like you did on here. I'm sure they will understand. This is nothing. Telling your parents that you want to make your own meals so you can stay fit is no big deal. And if there are some communication between you and your folks, this would be a good start. Good luck!

Excellent advise, mrmoose63!
bropie - you're folks will understand if you have to break the news. My mom LOVES cooking but accepted the fact that I had made choices that just didn't fit with the basic cooking plan. Of course I had successfully waltzed myself into more than my fair share of cooking, but mom had adopted some of the dishes I cooked and cooks them still even though I'm not under their roof anymore. When ever I go to visit she expects me to pass on a few new recipes!

Forsaken - it's always easier to talk to peers than parents. We're not strangers here.
