I think I may have overdone it. I did it according to my programme and my lower body is in absolute agony. I can barely walk. I'm going again tomorrow to work biceps and triceps but don't thnk I'll be able to get my 25 mins of cardio in after weights.

Any tips of how to ease the pain? I started with 5kg in each hand (I know, silly woman!) It's strange because I didn;t feel like I was overdoing it although it wa difficult.

Do the cardio, but do it lightly... walking will actually help alleviate the DOMS. Also, do you do any stretching?

I stretch at the end, not so much at the beginning. I should do, shouldn't I?

Also, if I could just ask, it says on my programme to do 25 mins cardio. I thought that in order to lose fat, one has to do cardio 30-45 mins per session.

If I'm not too tired from the weight training prior to the cardio, would it be ok to do the cardio for 40 mins? Or should I stick to what the programme says?

I stretch at the end... from what I've read, don't stretch before some sort of warmup.

As for cardio... you can do the steady state (25-30 or 40 mins) or HIIT... go hard for 30 seconds, ease off for 60 and run those cycles for five or six times....
