Hi, I have tried protein and carb powders in the past to help with mass, unfortunately these powders always make me nauseated and in some cases have caused me great discomfort for a few days. I was curious if there were any alternatives to these powders, I've tried some of the protein bars but did not know if they were as effective. Plus is there a period of adjustment that comes with protein supplements?
Everyone with experience on this board says to get your diet straight. There is a post at the top of the Supplement thread titled "Biological value of protein sources". This gives the protein values of different protein sources. If you do a search on gaining mass you will see that they say to eat right and eat alot. I am trying to gain mass as well. One mistake that I made in years past with powders was trying to take too much at one time. The supplements can help but they will not do it by themselves. I can attest to this. By the way, if you are not working hard in the gym you won't gain muscle anyway. Do some searches in this thread and the nutrition thread. You will learn alot more quickly than waiting on an answers about gaining mass. Gaining mass and losing weight ( or spot weight loss) are probably the most requested topics.
