am i doing enough

hi i'm new here and have a question.
i am 52 female and started weight traing the end of may. i want to loose weight and tone up
i also am trying the south beach diet(boring)
my routine is m,w,f elliptical trainer for 30 min and treadmill to cool down for 15-20 min.
on tues, thurs, sat i do the circut machines, stretch and then treadmill for 30 min. my lower back bothers me if i do the free weights
am i doing TOO much or not enough?
any help would be appreciated!!!!

Perhaps you might want to try training 3x a week, and incorporate the free weights or curcuit machines after doing your cardio.
Sounds like you might be overdoing it, and getting into the programs to quickly.
