I'm 22 and my weight is about 147 lbs, I am 5' 3" and I wear a pants size 10. Ideally, I would like to get down to 140 and a size 8. According to the BMI I am overweight for my size. I bike about 25 miles a day, do weights (upper and lower body) 5 times a week, and if I don't get my biking in I'll go for a 5-10 mile run instead. Plus I go for long walks, row, use the stepper or whatever else I'm in the mood for too. From what I can calculate, I take in on average less than 2000 calories a day, unless i splurge on a dessert like cake or something. I have lost 4 lbs in about 5-6 weeks. I feel like the BMI is wrong in my circumstance, as I know muscle weighs more than fat, that I am not really too overweight, but I would like to hear someone elses opinion. I don't feel like the 4 lbs I've lost is really a lot, and I'm wondering if I should keep on as I am, or should be doing more to lose weight, or if I am taking in enough calories for my body considering how much exercise I do. My goal in this case is weight loss and clothing size. I definately want to be healthy while losing weight, the last thing I want is to damage my body. Please let me know if I am on the right track.

With the amount of exercise you do... I would increase the caloric intake to 2500 calories. Make sure to eat healthy though, if you put in junk, all you'll get is junk!
Most of the time the BMI is wrong, especially with people who lift weights. Do you do any abdominal exercises? It would help too... 4 lbs. in 5-6 weeks is excellent; you don't want to loose it too fast, just to gain it back!
Keep on track!

I dont have a ton of weight to loose either, and it is comming off really slow. The only thing I can think is to keep on going. Good luck with your goals.

women carry their weight differently. As long as you would clasify yourself as having curves and not bulges, a size 8 might be perfect for you. It sounds like from your cardio, that your weight loss will be from adjusting your diet.
small portions, 5-6 meals/snacks a day. Good clean food.
good luck and welcome to ft.
