I am trying to lose weight but I am lifting as well, so my question is... Will taking creatine hinder my abilities to lose weight? I don't think it is even related, but I want to be sure. I am 6' 240 pounds, I would like to get down to the low 200's maybe even in the 190's. I have been reading this message board all day long and I feel lost with all this new info. I think what I have figured out is a diet consisting of 2600 calories, 240 g protein, 40 g fat, and 550 g carbs. Does this sound right?

I think the 550 carbs is very excessive if you are trying to lose 40 lbs. At the very minimum cut that in half. Mske those carbs fibrous for the most part too, like veggetables such as spinach, broccoli, brussel sprouts, salads, and a couple complex carbs like sweet potato or brown rice. Divide these nutrients P/F/C into 5-6 meals.I would wait on the creatine too. It will make you retain some water, and especially if an inferior blend will blur your definition.

Most definitely, if you are trying to lose weight, I don't think creatine is the way to go. It adds a lot of mass. Lose the weight, then take it if you want to add the muscle mass, then cut down.
