Some amino acids can be just molded protein powder in disguise. First off you want them to be peptide bonded and not free form if using for muscle building. Free form are just that, and are digested separately obviously, so if they are not all present at the same time, there is no "chain" and they are for the most part wasted. Bonded on the other hand are a completed chain. Must be for nitrogen retention, which is what you are after. Look for made from hydrolosates, eggwhite, and whey isolate peptides. Can also aid greatly in recovery time and help retain muscle during strict dieting conditions.
Free form have their uses in other ways, such as L-Arginine is reputed for helping with great pumps and helping growth hormone release, and then everyone probably knows about L-Glutamine by now. L-Carnitine has been shown to maximise the retension of muscle tissue while dieting. It helps convert stored fat into energy and keeps blood sugar levels stable.
-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it.
