Another cardio question

I was wondering if using an exercise bike is ok for all my cardio needs? I do this 3 times a week for usually 25-30 minutes on none weight lifting days.

I could do other kinds of cardio but it means staying in the gym for another 30 minutes and doing cardio straight after weight training, which is bad, right?

it really depends on your goals. cardio for 30mins is fine as long as it's high intensity, and it gets your heart rate going. for the most part cardio should be staggered with your weight training, however again that boils down to your goals.

Some people run across problems when they do the same repititious Cardio all the time as the human body has an incredible ability to adapt. Change it up a bit...keep your body guessing and you'll keep burning.

Also gangster is right..combined with weight training and you will find that you'll see faster and better results.

For my cardio i do running (which i think is the best cardio along with swimming).. I think bike would be ok sometimes as long as you dont use it every day because I dont find it strenuous unless I'm cycling for an xxxxxx long amount of time but hey, thats just me

I think its of a high intensity, I'm always out of breath and sweating by the end of it. I used to run for 15 minutes on a treadmill and then do 10 minutes of rowing straight after weight lifting, which was a bad idea because it burns muscle up.

I also found that running really fatigued me. I have chronic fatigue syndrome. I tried biking this week and I lost 4 pounds, but I don’t want my body to get used to it as you say.

So should I start running and rowing again even if it’s on the same days as weight lifting?

Try to seperate weight lifting and cardio by 6-8 hours, if you can. If your goal is still to lose weight and you have enough to lose still, then you should be alright doing one after the other. From what I've read the cardio immediately after weight training isn't a problem until you get to the point where there's not much BF left to burn.

I invite one of the more experienced peeps to Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. I've been doing this lately since I started my FT 8 week weight lose plan. Kind of in anticipation of my wife starting to work out with me at lunch time in the next few weeks so I was going to switch my cardio to different days then, but for now I do it immediately afterwards.

I do my cardio and workout on different days... I workout Mondays, Weds (regular and abs), Fri, and do just my abdominal workouts Sat.. i do cardio Tues and Thurs and take sunday off

I would try to add some variation to your cardio, not just biking. The body adapts easily, and so variation will be of great benefit.

Some other cardio exercises include running, aerobics, swimming, sports like basketball or soccer (if you're not playing goalie) Theres endless selections!

is rowing a good form of cardio? I tired running today but got loads of stitches and couldn’t continue, I always get really bad stitches no mater what I do with running.

ouch... yeah i guess rowing would be a pretty good form of cardio.. well.. when I do rowing I get pretty tired and it gets my heart pumpin' and grindin' but thats just me
