hi,
i'm new to FT but not that new to weight training i need to know in my "gain muscle mass program"doing 4 sets my reps are around 20,16,15,14 on each exercise. will this give me any real gain in size? most peoples posts i read say they change their reps to low for mass gains...please give me some answers

Hi, general consensus is as follows:-

For Power Lifting, High Weights - Low Reps 1 - 6
For Mass Building, Medium\High weights - Medium Reps 6 - 14
For Muscle Endurance, Low weights - High Reps 12 - 20

Or something along those lines.

vorn - that may be a break-in period. Some high rep work, as it will be different from what you have probably been doing, may boost your gains. i would guess that as you progress in the program the reps will go lower. Try it and see, you won't be wasting your time, as it is a new program and you will benefit just because of that factor.
