Sorry i didn't know where to put this i'm new here. I weigh 105 pounds, and i'm 16..though not biologically..i don't shave don't plan to for atleast a year. I'm about 5'11, my right bicep's 10.5 inches. Ironically i've lifted upto 75 pounds with one arm..where the arm was resting on my knee whatever you call it. I don't know what a max bench is, but for 8 reps i'm starting with 100 pounds. The max weigh i can lift no reps is about 150. Any ideas on my future as a powerlifter? I'm hoping to go atleast 6'3. Any alternatives to weightlifting for now (so that my growth isn't stunted) an suggestions for the future will GREATLY be appreciated. Summers are coming i want to grow. Thanks

Try posting your 'powerlifting' related questions in the powerlifting section....

I would just as a precaution wait to powerlift for 2-3 years until your body is better formed.....

Exercise you were doing is called sitting concentration curls....I am assuming you were using every muscle in your body other than biceps to do it...lol

150 bench press for 0 reps=0 pounds lifted....ie you were looking at it...lol

I would lift in the 8-12 rep range when you perform exercises...squats(as deep as you can go), deadlifts, rows, dips, pull ups(pulldowns), etc....3 sets for each exercise...

As you get older you can drop the reps and start doing more powerlifting style workouts...

However to become successful at powerlifting you'll realistically need to be about 250 at your height....if you do grow another few inches, then you'll need to be close to 300....I am guessing you're a hardgainer or you just went through a very big growth spurt....but you're at a disadvantage with your height/leverage against shorter stockier people in the weight categories below that...

But to get anythign out of weight room....EAT EAT EAT then ...EAT SOME.....and then EAT SOME MORE......stick to healthy food choices....check out Sports Nutrition, and Bodybuilding sections for items at the top(bb1 and other people posted helpful tips and suggestions)....for some ideas....generally you need to eat 18-25 calories per lb to grow...for you it's probably the upper end...and maybe more....focus on getting calories from mostly proteins(lean meats, poultry, fish, nuts, eggs, milk,etc)....stick with mostly complex carbs like yams, sweet potatoes, brown rice...except for right after your workouts when you should eat simple carbs(it's best if you just drink a shake with 60-80 grams simple carbs and 30-40g protein....but you can also eat white rice, potatoes, and pasta with meat sources..)....try to avoid sodas, chips, and so on.....although you can drink down occassional soda right after a workout and eat a protein bar...or some protein ....

Good luck with your aspirations....

Why dont you do your Heavy reps 1-2-3-4-5-for powerlifting for two weeks, then do your general 6-8-10-reps for two weeks, and then do 15-20-reps for endurance for two weeks, rotate and get a equal build, working with weights should help strengthen your bones and ligaments,if weigth lifting is your priority then let it be what will be.
