Now i know aspartame isn't exactly great for you, but when is truly harmful? Because several supplements have it(with out saying the amount), and i just want to know if i should avoid it, or not worry about it.

From what I have heard, or at least my understanding is that unless you are pregnant, it is not much of a concern.

This was a concern of mine about 3 years ago. My advise: Don't worry a bit about it. Aspartame is 2 amino acids (aspartic acid and phenylalinine) bound together with a methyl group (one carbon atom and 2 hydrogen atoms). When aspartame is ingested, the two amino acids separate leaving the methyl group to travel throughout the body as a free radical. The methyl group is what's so 'bad' about this stuff. Some say it causes cancer, accelerates aging, affects your vision, etc, which is true in high amounts. The FDA says a safe level of aspartame would be equivalent to drinking 40 diet sodas a day!! There's 8 times more free radical methyl groups in an 8oz glass of tomato juice than in one 12oz can of diet soda. I'm not sure how much artificial sweetener is in some of the supplements we take, but I'm not worried. If you still have concerns, try supplements that contain sucralose or Splenda instead.
