Ok the subject line almost says it all. I was on Atkins up till about 5 months ago when I relocated to Las Vegas from Chicago, hard to stay on a diet through a move like that and just haven't gotten back on the wagon again yet.

Atkins was working well for me even without an exercise routine. I still weigh in excess of 325lbs but weighed 450lbs at my max weight. I have bad knees and diabetes. I'm 30 years old and did a lot of lifting for football in high school.

Basically what I'd like to know is, is there anyone out there with a similar experience who perhaps modified Atkins in any way to accomodate a muscle mass gain program of weight training?

Being diabetic I really can't carb load so I figure Atkins is still a worthy part of my overall weight loss plan. To be honest weight loss is not critical for me, fat loss and muscle gain is however.

Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

PJ
