I am just curious to see what you body builders have to say about that diet. I know I have my own opinions. I tried that diet once, for 2 weeks, and on the second week I thought my heart was going to stop. I couldnt get it to beat faster and if i tried i felt pain. Then I ate a banana and that went away. That was enough to scare me out of that crap.
Just curious on all your thoughts.
PS IF somethin about the atkins diet has been posted already just redirect me. Thanks

The Atkins diet WILL help you lose fat. The science is sound and the results are real. HOWEVER - the diet is HORRIBLE when it comes to muscle building. Depriving your body of its primary energy source is a great way to shift to your secondary (body fat), but it doesn't provide you with enough raw material or energy to build muscle. In addition, it doesn't put enough of a hamper on the comsumption of saturated fats. Also, from what I've heard, people will often gain back some of the weight when they eat carbs again, particularly if they don't adjust their diet to their new size.

============= I dont think its that sound REGARDLESS. The only reason you lose fat IMO on that diet, is because of the caloric intake decrease. Other than that, especially for the long term, its a completely unhealthy way of living. I dont care if you want to lose fat or gain muscle.
How can it be a healthy thing to go through diahrea in the early stages, or make your body convert into a starvation mode, which I swear Atkins supporters dont understand, IS MERELY A SURVIVAL MECHANISM OF THE BODY, NOT A DIETARY TACTIC.
Just my thought on it tho :P
