Hi everyone, need so input if possible.... I had back surgery a few years ago, worked out every day, walked 5 miles per day, felt wonderful, got into another car accident, re-injured my back.... ok, so i built myself back up went back to the gym, can work out for about 3 maybe 4 months 3 times per week, blow out my back again. this keeps happening. last incident left me down for 8 months, I am back now, and really frustrated. I have been told three different things by dr's, i should work out slowly, not to work out and last but not least, lose 30 lbs before i start to work out. Now.... I was just told by another Dr I have to drop 30 lbs, and i can only use a glider or treadmill, then he will give me other instructions for exercise after i lose 30 lbs, this is driving me crazy, I am now 55 lbs overweight, feel completely frustrated with both myself and drs. any other suggestions along with the treadmill? I am willing to listen to any suggestions, thanks deb

Can I ask what the medical reason is for the repeated back injuries? I have a ankle that I first injured 15 yrs ago. Since then if I do not do my deadlifts and squats(I know not really a ankle workout) I seem to injure it more. So is your back structuraly worng, muscular worng or is it weak as a result of that surgery? AS for the weight loss, would water areobics not be less stress on your back? Walking puts strain onto the lower back. Just my opinion. I suggest you follow the docs advice! Good luck ask them about doing water workouts, the water helps hold you up and all..
