If you use a heavy bar for deep squats and lunges does it create a larger and firmer butt?

Try using more weight for larger/firmer glutes. A heavy bar is fine, but if you can add weight to it - all the better. Less weight/more reps would be toning, but I think I am gathering that you want a larger butt, so yes, more weight is best. :)

So if I want to make my butt firmer use less weights. About how much? I am 120 5'6" and my butt looks huge!!!!!

dixiedive - I would probably double my reps (from 10 to 20 for example)per set. (Please fill out your profile) I am assuming you wish to loose weight off your butt - unfortunately, weight cannot be spot reduced off any one specific area of the body, so you will need to adjust your diet at the same time you tone it. Good luck :)
