hey so ive been going to the gym 4 days a week now for about a year and its going really well.
My reflections are that heavy strength training seemed to help best- i do it regularly and i think it has made the biggest difference all around- i used to look really fat, now i just look a bit chunky/generally in the normal range.
Ya a year ago I was 220 pounds and looked like crap. Today i weigh 220 pounds and look worlds better- almost in the normal/average category of looks which is a huge step up from botterline obese.
i haven't lost a single pound, but i can lift 4-10 times what i started being able to do on pretty much every muscle group. In particular i can do 500 pounds on the leg press, and which im quite proud of.
The trick of it is if i could drop 20-30 pounds of the bad weight id look amazing right now: for example My abs are insanely strong and I obviously have a six pack- just its under too much fat so i can only see it a bit. This is a shame.
So i begrudgingly have taken up cardio- its truly great for your mood/etc and its something im glad i started. Sure its hard to do on days i do legs though lol. I just push through that.
I try to eat well- but probley eat too much vector cereal- for like two meals a day- and occasionally splurge on something unhealthy: a spagetti meal here and there, or some ice cream. All and all I eat quite a bit better than most people i know, and protein shakes definitely help cause i dont eat much meat. One thing i know for sure- when I started fixing my eating even without doing cardio, all of the sudden everyone started going wow youve really changed.
Hard to say you know? if a year got me from borederline obsese to normal perhaps itll take another year to get to cool hotness- its kinda inevitable if you continue to exercise regularly eh?
Any tips for blasting through my necessary fat loss to show off what ive built?
Anyone have a similar experiences?
thanks

Congrats on your progress and it is amazing what a year can do. I don't have any tips since reading your post, it's pretty obvious you already know what to do and it's just a matter of doing it. Occasional "cheat" foods don't hurt but like you've probably seen on here dozens of times, it all boils down to diet.
