Well it has been three weeks since I wrote on tweeking my diet, and I think I have been doing an excellent job but am not seeing any results, clothes not fitting looser and scale is staying the same. Driving me nuts, I am sure I eat better than 90% of the people around me and I can't seem to get past this hump. I found a website www.bodybyo.com, Kim Oddo's website who appears to give nutritional advice to many professionals including Monica Brant. Has anyone paid for this online service before?
I weigh 136, and am at 18.5% body fat, really want to get lower. I eat about 1700 - 2,000 calories a day, w/ about 136 grams of protein, no more than 20% fat and remainder from carbs. I do eat dairy though, probably have 1.5 cups of skim milk and a yogurt during the day. Should I eliminate that? And I've cut the wine out to only one night a week, 2 glasses. I guess I feel like what I"ve been doing I should see some sort of results. |

Have you been keeping a daily nutrition log? Your profile suggests some bad habits, which could be shown on the log.
Anyway, what does your workout look like? It's also possible that you've encountered that dreaded plateau. -------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! E-mail: rpacheco@freetrainers.com |

What about your routine? have you switched it lately? Are you doing different types of cardio? Your body adapts to your routine, your cardio and your diet.
Also, the leaner you get, the harder it is to convince your body to drop fat. try cycling your macronutrient ratios for a few weeks - three days of more carbs, 2 days medium, 2 days less than 30g carbs, then backk up again (repeat). On the low days avoid carbs from anything other than veggies and try to schedule your heavy lifting days on the higher days. make up the calorie difference by ading in flaxseed or olive oil and extra protein. Good luck! -------------- "To be able to go to the gym and train hard is a joy and a privelege, even though the hard work necessitates driving yourself through considerable discomfort. Actually I had been changing my routine EVERY time I went to the gym so actually stopped doing that for the past month, do change something every time but core stays the same so I can build from that. I try and do at least 30 - 45 minutes of cardio 5 - 6 days a week, w/ 2 days doing sprints, and the remaining time doing the elliptical or this other machine that I have no idea the name of.
I am at about 18.5% bodyfat so, in my opinion, I'm not so lean where my body is having a hard time convincing itself to drop more fat. I have never tried cycling the macronutrients (no idea what macronutrients means) but worth a shot. Right now I am at about 47% of calories from carbs (calories range from 1500 - 1700, I probably should be eating 2,000 but hard to get in all that food), my fat no more than 20% (wondering if I should lower to 15%) and protein 33%. Monday through Friday but diet is super clean, probably could use some adjustments but for all intense and purposes clean. I do have about a cup of milk a day and one yogurt, not sure if I should ditch the dairy. And last night I had a fat free pudding w/ 2 chocolate graham crackers, hmmm... maybe that was a no no but even w/ that cheat my calorie consumption yesterday was only at 1500 w/ 32 grams of fat. And what is really annoying is.... after have breast augmentation I actually gained 10 lbs, drives me insane!! I eat better now, work out harder, and am afraid to even try on jeans because I know they wont' fit! alright so now I am feeling sorry for myself. Anyway thanks for the advice and any additional advice, I will implement anything and everything I come across!! |

Macronutrientsare the % of p/c/f. The best advice I have gotten for getting the last few BF% off is to keep a log of every bite I eat. Then lower the overall cals by 250 per day for a couple of weeks. As your weight drops so does your resting metabolism . You have to keep adjusting. It did me no good to guestimate food intake. Had to be very accurate. Hope this helps.-------------- Some times life is like herding cats. Charlie | |

Michael,
Hey yeah, I checked my email and printed the info. I am going to do the leg workout today and the nutrition advice was awesome, lots of information I didn't know. Getting to 2,000 calories a day will be a challenge, I actuall had to force myself to eat last night and probably still was only at 1500 for the day!! Thanks again for everyones help/advice. I, one of these days, will get some pictures posted!! Taurie, I can forward the email to you if you would like. |
