Im 20 years old, pretty thin actually about 135-140 pounds and 5'8 - 5'9. Im thin, thats for sure, but i have a layer of fat i guess (im pretty sure its fat) covering my chest and abs area, im really looking to see if i should burn that fat off then start trying to gain mass, as for my other muscles such as arms, shoulders, and back ive begun using freeweight exercises to tone and define those areas, does anyone have any ideas on how i could lose the small fat layer and then gain and tone the chest/ab areas? im just wondering because i want to look better for the summer time and just plain for myself, im sick of being "small and skinny"

If you look around alot of the postings here, you'll find the answer to fat loss is better eating habits, and not so much dieting. Resistance training is going to be the thing for gaining the mass you're hoping for, but to get there, you'll need to feed yourself alot more than you're taking in right now. Healthy natural foods are the foundation. Search Buddyfit and you'll find all kinds of threads on that topic.
Good luck.
