Well unfortunally for humans....muscle is a burden. We really have no reason for EXTRA muscle. We live sedatery liftstyles of watching tv, and driving everywhere. SO body really doesn't need it, just enough to do noraml every day stuff walking, carrying groceries, picking up the beer and remote etc.
So We have to make the body keep it around....meaning working out....and the only way we can get the body to grow and repair this muscle....is to eat more than normal.
So no matter the body type we must workout and eat right to grow...

Muscle that is not 'used' will eventually atrhophy. Shitty diet and age make this happen more rapidly. Once you reach a point where you are happy, you don't have to try to break records each time you go in the gym. Intensity is what keeps muscle mass moreso. Cut down your time in the gym, overdoing it will also end up burning muscle mass.
For improvement, i.e...more muscle mass, you have to continue to add weight to the bar. If you do not, the muscle has no reason to adapt to any overload, as there is none, therefore you are simply burning calories.

one more thing, since i was 19 (27 now) I been practicing karate, but even so I didn't won muscular mass, I'm a strong person and you wouldn't believe me if you see how thin I am, i have a lot of fiber in my body but i would like to grow, so maybe I'm doing to much cardio? or could be the way I eat? like to eat specially protein, but not in much quantity, 3 times a day and sometimes I jump one of the meals or eat a small dish.

If you want to gain mass, you must eat. Calories in must be greater than calories out.

You may literaly need to force feed yourself 10-15 times a day if you're that skinny(metabolism) or overactive(due to activity)..
Martial arts tend to burn a lot of calories....upwards of 1000 an hour.....depending on your weight, etc...
So you must try to eat every 1.5-2 hours....For meals I would eat at least 500-800 calories, and for snacks about 250-300....
Just like bb1 said.....eat more calories than you burn=weight gain...

Yeah, just eat! Anyone who has made a true gains, no matter how they talk now about healthy eating, if you go back to their 'roots', you will more than likely find that for the first few years they probably shoved everything in their pie hole they could find.
Myself inculded. :)
