Yo Mike,

My friends call me a total a$$, too! Also, like your friend, I too have experienced huge gains in a similar short period of time -- mostly in squats. Are your friend's claims bull pucky? I dunno. But they are not unfathomable in my humble opinion. Here's some suggestions for you...

(1) Consider watching exactly what your buddy does and see if you can learn from him (or if he's all hot air).
(2) Fill out your profile so others here can help you with your goals.
(3) Wash your hands out with soap for typing all those colorful expletives.

Good Luck and welcome to Free Trainers.

also if your friend just started lifting he could be experiencing newbie gains. when i first began to lift i had similar results.
