I'm sure this is question asked many times but...
I'm currently using Myoplex as a meal replacement, extra protein source.
What is (in your opinions) the best meal replacement (with something in it more then just a pile of protein) type protein drink for the dollar out there?
(I'm in the US)
My main goal is to gain lean muscle but I'm not on a fast gain program.
Thanks!

Hmm, the meal replacement I use is pretty heavy duty. 600 calories, 52 gms protein, and 86 carbs. I am trying to put on serious mass though. I'm not sure that it would be best for you, but Nlarge by prolab is what I use.

If looking to add lean muscle, I recommend Skim Milk and Whey protein. Makes a mean shake. You can add dehydrated milk powder to the milk to give it more kick and it won't increade the overall volume. I also like Slim Fast shakes. They are very inexpensive per 6 pack, and on their own or with a scoop of whey protein powder, they are great for supplementing you meals or in place of one.

Myoplex is good thats what i use. I think I might try Nlarge, 52 grams is darn good. I posted the Myoplex nutrional facts under th subject "cycling protein" if anyone is interested in seeing what is in it. BQ

I would love to try some of these other products, 52g of protein and 600 cals does sound great! It is just the price is SO high for the supps I have found versus the amount of servings. I am trying to pinch the pennies as much as possible.

Anyone know of a meal replacement that is similar to myoplex but tastes better? I am a fan of vanilla.

Lean Mass Matrix. It's somewhat more expensive, but it's a good value. I'm hoping they'll come out with 42 packs to be more competitive.
Myoplex is old news. It's good for post-workout, though.
Slim Fast's mostly sugar.

is it true that your body can only hold about 34 grams of pure protein at one time? I heard this from a macro-biology professor during a lectur in class the other day...if this is right then all these supplements with over that amount are just becoming added waste.

bb1fit gave a recipe for a weight gainer and meal replacement in a thread before. I think he used oatmeal, peanut butter, whey protein, and mixed them together (maybe milks in it not sure). Try a search for it.
