I've always like the wide back look. Arnold had that, jay cutler, lee priest, and others have it. Its the v shape. I sorta have it myself. i hear lat pulldowns are good for that. Seated cable rows are horrible tho, u cant get a good stretch or pump doing those. What excercises are best for developing a wide upper back?

The lats are real cool to train, equal to the pecs.
You might want to choose one-Arm dumbell rows-T-bar rows, machine pullovers, chins, crossbench dumbell pullovers. Remember to keep proper form as some of these will be tough around the elbows. Don't overdo the weight.
Hope these help.

My favorites are bent over barbell rows, chins, and deadlifts.

rows ar emainly for thickness of the back, pull ups wil stretch the lats more and help them broaden. Lat pull downs to an lesser extent.
When you pull up, you body is under the bar, so you lats get a good stretch, amd squeeze at the top.
pull downs, you usually lean back, so your body isn't directly under the rack, therefore not a complete stretch.
pull overs help stretch too.

Chins are probably the undisputed king of back width movements. Heavy rowing movements are the best for thickness.

ye agotta have gravity boots........they have hooks and you hook onto a power rack, and hang upside down. Guy at my old gym did it , said it made him taller. He was already 6'8. I do hear it very relaxing

Absolutely. And lately i have been doing just that. I have a good back but for some reason, i have a hard time doing wide grip pull ups, so i have to use weight resistance. And when i do my lat pulldowns, i go as possible. when i am done, my back fills the entire gym, HAH!
