Agree with ba. If you use the right macro, for instance a 50/20/30, you can maintain most of your lean mass, if not all, but lose the fat. 1-2 pounds a week.

Lift heavy and lose weight? sure...why the hell not? it's the method I prefer...
Don't expect to set any new PRs if you're a seasoned lifter...but can you lift heavy? sure...the strength drop off may not even be that big or not at all....
your diet will have to be very clean....
Dieting I would focus on getting 1.5g of proteins per lb of bodyweight...and 50-80g of healthy fats...and remaining 0.5-1g of complex carbs per lb......split it up over 8 meals....so you'll be eating 250-300 calories some meals/snacks...
Focus on lifting heavy 2-5 reps(I like 3 reps)...doing freeweight basics....deep squats, deadlifts, dips, chin ups, military presses, bench presses....you get the idea....
Highly suggest FISH OIL capsules...10g per day when dieting......5 g morning and 5g night...it will help spare most of the muscle mass.....

Thanks for the info, I know it is possible, just wanted to get some other views...I can't stand going to the gym and doing high reps with light weight. When I lift, I want to go big.
