Hi all. I'm currently trying to figure out what the best thing for me to drink to gain more muscle. My body fat is about 15% right now, and my main goal is to put on lean muscle. I've been lifting weights/cardio for about a year now, have dropped 40 lbs, and my waist has gone from 40" to 35". I currently weigh 207 (which according to the body fat calculator puts my % at 16%).
I've been trying out just drinking a whey protein shake post-workout (40-50g). I've also been trying to load my diet with other protein, but I have trouble getting up to 200g. I tried ProBlend55 and really liked it, but it upset my stomach. I really like the GNC brand, and I do well with it, but it has a lot of saturated fat in it (1.5 g for 20g protein). I've also tried MyoPlex, but it tasted awful to me. I'd like something chocolate that I can mix with water that tastes good.
Should I be thinking about other supplements as well? (Glutamine, creatine, other proteins?)
Thanks,
Mike

Try 100% Whey Protein by Optimum Nutrition... The chocolate flavor is really good and mixes ok with water

I have recently tried isopure dutch chocolate not bad at all. It's a good whey isolate and is very thin when mixed up.

Thanks for the advice. Do I want a whey isolate? Right now even more than trying to get suggestions for a good flavor, I'm not sure what I should be drinking in terms of supplements. Is creatine something just serious body builders benefit from? From my understanding whey isolate is different from just a whey protein -- do I need both? or are they interchangeable?
My thought was that since I am still a relative newbiew to the weightlifting scene, that just making sure I get enough protein is enough for now, and the best way to do that is with 100% whey.
Thanks!

Whey isolate is generally void of any impurities, and is usually a little more expensive. 100% Whey by ON is an excellent protein. It is clean and Optimum is a great company. If you train on a consistent basis, creatine will help you obtain some great results. Buy a good micronized creatine powder from companies like AST, EAS or Prolab. Good luck.

And the Optimum is fairly inexpensive compared to the others. I'll definitely check it out. Because its less expensive, though, is it a lesser quality of whey protein? I have heard that low quality whey protein can cause stomach upset.
Thanks!

No, Optimum is a very good, clean protein. It is very good quality and I would highly recommend it. I have never had any digestive type problems with it as I have with other protein powders.
