anyone know some exercises for hitting the upper and outer biceps? also i am looking for the peak in the biceps. which exercises should i do for this purpose?

Hammer curls (inclined bench and standing), reverse and normal barbell curls, cheat curls and concentration curls.

ive got another question for you guys. what difference does it make by varying the grip (narrow or wide) while doing barbell curls?

In order to keep your muscles guessing(read growing) you need to use different exercises, grips, etc so they do not get too used to one exercise.

Actually, you want to make sure that your elbows are close to your sides. This puts the entire stress of the lift on the biceps. You have to make sure you are completely still when you lift...do not put your shoulders or back into the lift at all.
If you have a Preacher attachment on your bench, this will greatly help isolate the biceps.
