Okay I am like freaking out. I am a small person and I put in my measurments and weight on the body fat percentage calculator and it said that I have 26% body fat which is moderatly overweight. Is that thing accurate? If it is then I feel so bad about myself because if I am the size I am which is small and it says im moderatly overweight then what the hell is skinny!!

Hi Nicole - actually I posted the same question in another forum - seems the consensus was that it is not quite accurate. I can certainly attest to that - I was tested at my gym and had considerably less body fat % than the one stated here. So don't worry!

I don't think the online calculators are very accurate. I got tested using a caliper at the gym and was 22.5% but the calculator says I am 20.5%.

I did a calculator yesterday and it said that I'm at 6%...... well lol that's definitely not it (I'm 14-13% right now but I'm getting ready for a competition as well!).
Anyway I have a chart and it says: women - 19 to 24% (depending on your age) = lean Up to 24 - 29% = ideal Up to 29 - 35% = average and finally + = above average
Don't waste your time on those calculators.... Use the mirror instead.

yeah, if you go by this bodyfat calculator, you will have to be 2% before it tells you you are at 9%! Most of these comuterized type just simply use a formula, they have no idea as to skin(loose), some people just have bigger waists, etc. One generic formula does not fit all. The only thing I would take out of it is a number, and use that for a reference point, and make sure it is going down each time, at least you know you are headed in right direction.

I've had inconclusive results with my bodyfat scale. Today it says I'm at 23.5% b/f & 129#'s. Yet when I take my b/f measurements with digital calipers it states that I'm at 18%? Think it all boils down to "are you satisfied with the reflection in the mirror?"

I would go with the digital calipers...as mentioned, these internet sites just use a generic formula. Just use it as a reference point if you must.
