I'm not sure if I should lower my bodyfat to show my abs, or just work them harder. Is there a certain body fat percentage that is low enough to show your abs?

Murphy,
Lowering the % is a 'yes' to show the abs. Working them harder will increase strength and and size of the abs but as it is said many times over the first step to a six pack is in the kitchen not the gym (something like that anyway). Although both is needed for a decent six pack.
As far as % goes i think it is different for everyone. I'm at 15% at the moment and I can see I'm almost there. I did read somewhere though that it should be below 10%.
put this into fitbuddy "Abs Fat percentage" and read away and good luck.

looking at your pick, i say you need to bulk the ab muscle. get in to a gym with the weight resistance machines for ab crunches and go for it. cut your carbs a little bit. get rid of sweet things and replace with apples or any fruit or veg for snacks. be drastic and go as far as cutting all carbs for a week or 2 ... then make sure you get an adequate intake of all foods that make a balanced diet.
but do crunch as your pick shows a flat gut with a touch of definition of where the muscle groups are so close eh.
